Where to stay
You will need a cosy bed for your stay on the island, and we recommend that you book as soon as possible: the island is very popular during the summer, and the Tour de France will make a stop there the weekend just after the wedding, so housing might get booked very quickly!
There are three main options to stay on the island: campgrounds, rentals and hotels. Here are a few suggestions of places that we have selected for you, or that have been recommended to us:
Campgrounds & BunGALOWS
Camping des Peupliers
The closest campground from the Fort and very charming, Camping des Peupliers is only a 25min walk to the Fort, and a 4 minutes drive. It offers bungalows for 4 to 8 people

Located at the feet of the Saint-Martin walls, it’s a 15min drive to the Fort. It offers bungalows for 4 to 8 people

Rentals & Villas

You’ll find other beautiful options on Iledere.com and Iledereloc.com! Try to stay close to the Fort, or at La Flotte, which is the closest village to the Fort. Saint-Martin de Ré is alo a great option: it’s slightly further, but is one of the most charming and the main town on the island.
